The 12th annual REEL Thanks Challenge (RTC) returns for 2025! Since its inception - with the help of participating teams and sponsors - this initiative has raised a total of $2,004,418 for the Greater Vancouver Food Bank.

In 2024, the REEL Thanks Challenge raised a total of $214,354. Thank you to everyone for helping the Food Bank provide healthy food to those in need!

The RTC is structured like a contest where different film and television productions around British Columbia compete to see who can raise the most money. The donations that these teams raise is greatly magnified through daily sponsored prizes from various organizations that support this great cause.

This year, October 1st - 10th, REEL Thanks will be raising funds to contribute towards the purchase of GVFB’s first ever permanent home in Vancouver. The purchase of our facility at 3454 Lougheed Hwy in Vancouver is a critical step towards ensuring long-term food security for our region. With the purchase of this facility, we are laying the foundation for even greater impact. Together, we are building a future where everyone has access to the food and dignity they deserve.
